Today’s announcement from the Minnesota Department of Education provided some long-anticipated detail on what school will look like this fall. Even after the announcement, I know we’re all likely in varying degrees of continued anxiety about what the future will bring…

Educators may continue to be nervous about returning to the classroom. Working parents know they can’t continue to work from their kitchen table while trying to simultaneously manage their child’s distance learning and expect either individual to be both successful and productive. And kids just want things to return to normal so they can see their friends.

I understand we’re all in different places when it comes to our comfort level with what school will look like in the fall and know that’s okay. Yellow Parachute Learning Partners is uniquely positioned to help support both you and the learners in your household this fall in a variety of different ways. If that means supplementing lessons, we’re here to help. If that means helping your child catch up after summer “brain drain” or falling behind after distance learning last spring, we’re here to help. If it means enrolling your kiddo in Yellow Parachute Academy this fall as a more structured learning environment, we’re here to help. If it means combining resources and hiring a Learning Coach to meet with a small group of your kids’ friends in an open basement setting, we’re here to help.

It can be difficult to make non-traditional choices for your student’s education. Humans tend to stick to what we know; it feels safe. But what if “safe” is no longer serving your family?

If there’s ever a time to break the mold and do something new, THE TIME IS NOW. I understand the doubts, fears, questions and concerns we’re all facing and am here to help. Our one thing is supporting you with what you need, we can figure that out together.

Our mission at Yellow Parachute Learning Partners is to help parents know it’s OK to face a different direction. And to help you define your new view for your family. We’ll work with you to create a customized solution for the learner(s) in your family. Through our proven process and executive function training we’ll teach your kids how to learn, not just what to learn, giving them the skills that will pave the way for a lifetime of success.

One of our favorite phrases to hear from parents is, “I have an idea…” We respond back with, “What are the possibilities? Let’s make them happen.”

If you want to chat or ideate on some of the ways you can best handle whatever this fall throws at you, you’re invited to join me on my weekly Zoom calls, which are super-casual and take place from 10 – 11 a.m on Wednesdays. Call (612) 361-7266 or email StudentConnector@YellowParachute.com to get the meeting link.

As always, if your kid needs help, let’s talk. Likewise, if you need wine, I can help you out there too! 😉
