The richest experiences in our lives aren’t when we’re clamoring for validation from others but when we’re listening to our own voice—doing something that matters, doing it well, and doing it in the service of a greater cause.

Pause for a minute and take in the gravity of this statement. Can you feel it? The pull of purpose, of living out personal identity—-who you are meant to be? As a parent, does your heart stir at the thought of these richest experiences for your children?

Listening to our own voice, doing something that matters, in the service of a greater cause.

From my faith-filled perspective, this, dear readers, is the place where I believe the soul feels its worth

And it is the rich and restorative place from which all of life’s blessings flow. We have this inside, each of us. I know you can feel it. And your kids feel it too. And yet, right now, we’re spinning in circles and bouncing from zoom meeting to google meets, anxious and depressed, thirsting for more and not knowing where to begin. What will it take to pause and gather our balance?

Do I sound a little desperate? I am. Because I see mothers and their children with their hearts broken wide open every day, and it seems like there’s very little I can do to help. I believe strongly in the power of intercession, and yet my earthly identity (and purpose) pines to give you more of what you need: peace, hope, strength. A place to start in the healing. And strategies and tools to practice.

And so, mothers, may I ask you to take some time out each day, just for you? In the pursuit of your inner voice, your passions, your hopes, and dreams. For you and no one else.

You will find rest, renewal, and a vision for your future. And your practice will be teaching your children to do the same.
